Our Does

"On a worldwide basis, more people drink the milk of goats than any other single animal. A dairy doe should be milked in the same manner as a dairy cow, using good dairy hygiene. Does may be milked by hand or machine. The milk requires the same careful attention to cleanliness and cooling as any other milk." - American Dairy Goat Association

Lil' Toad Ranch Darla

Di-Rich Farms

Esmeralda

We aquired Darla in October of 2013.  She's our first Nubian doe.  We brought her home when we knew not a thing about ADGA or Purebreds or any of that. Darla is a native on appearance Nubian. She would have been a registerable purebred if we could have attained proper paperwork from her sire's owner.  But since we were unable to do that we registered her with ADGA as a NOA doe and we bred her with Duke. She had a wonderful kidding in March of 2014 and gave us Daylight and Daisy- two does!  Darla's milk is sweet and creamy and has us hooked.  Although Darla will not be used to produce a line of purebred Nubians for our herd, we will continue breeding her for her delicious milk.  Her kids are considered 50% American Nubian and her granddaughters will be 100% American Nubian.  Although we plan to aqcuire a purebred Nubian doe, we will keep Darla as our family's milk producer and sell her kids.

On Thanksgiving weekend 2014 we brought Di-Rich Farms Esmerelda home to Lil' Toad Ranch!

Esmeralda is a sweetheart! Very people friendly and super affectionate. Followed us all over the pen when we brought her home. But she's not just sweet and pretty, she comes from excellent lineage.

Esmerelda's dam is Wingwood Farm Tim's Esperanza.  Her sire is M's Sagebrush Acres Maxim Spartacus.  Esmeralda was bred to Pella's Triple C Electrum  from Pella's Triple C Dairy Goats in 2014 and gave us Mulan in the spring of 2015.

Electrum is Pella's Triple C Electrum and we are very proud to have his lineage as the start of our Purebred line! Electrum's sire and dam are both from the fantastic Nubians at  Kastdemur's Dairy Goats.

Esmeralda and Electrum will be the foundation of our purebred Nubian line. We expect to be able to show the progeny out of these two and have a plentiful supply of delicious milk!

Di-Rich Farms

Fa Mulan Rouge

"Mulan", as we affectionately call her is the daughter of our SG Di-Rich Farms Esmeralda and Pella's Triple C Electrum.  Mulan has the most gentle, sweet temperment.  Mulan is a yearling due to kid April 9th, 2016 with her first kidding.  She was bred to Victory Joy Zoe's Hershy Bolt, who comes from Black Mesa and Six M Galaxy lines.  We're really excited to see what comes of this breeding as she is carrying triplets by ultrasound!   Mulan's dam is our supergenetics (SG) doe, and like her mom she has great depth of body, breed character, dairyness and temperment. We hope, like her dam, she will be a top milk producer for our family.

Lil' Toad Ranch

Daylights Luna

"Luna" is the granddaughter of Darla, our first doe.  Like Darla, Luna has beautiful black and white markings and very attractive Nubian breed character in her roman nose, face and long ears.   Luna is the last of percentage grade Nubians.  She is 75% American Nubian and is due to kid our first 100% American Nubians on May 14th, 2014.

Luna's sire is *B C&W Farm Zena's Noble Knight from Veteran's Ranch.  We believe Luna carry's great genetics from her grade nubian dam and granddam with their high butterfat milk production and her sire with his wonderful milk production genetics.  Luna is bred to Victory Joy Zoe's Hershey Bolt who comes from Black Mesa and Six M Galaxy lines.  We are looking forward to the kids that come from this breeding!
